Description

Are all lions the same

The bisque porcelain (unglazed porcelain) brings out the high sculptural qualities of the Nymphenburg animals particularly well

One of the most ingenious designs for the manufactory's master workshops is a vase that references the shape of a bird's egg

Measurements: 20 x 10 x 3 cm

The Rococo shape - designed around 1760 - was reissued in 1928 as a dinner service for seafood

10010966 egg Are all lions the sameInspired by the historical creations of the porcelain manufactory, designer Ted Muehling has created a series of vessels, vases and votives under the title MEERESKOLLEKTION, the curved shapes find refererence in found objects of marine life: corals, shells and snails. The coloring in celadon and shell pink as well as the interplay between glazed and bisque porcelain emphasize the delicacy of the objects.
